Christendom College in Virginia is conducting a search for a full-time theologian in the “Catholic and Thomistic tradition“ at the rank of assistant professor, to start in August 2020. Specialization should be in historical or systematic theology, with competence in Scripture, sacramental theology, or Thomistic moral theology preferred. “Christendom College is committed to Thomistic programs of instruction in theology and philosophy, which are taught according to the spirit, method, and principles of the Common Doctor.” Applications are due by August 15, 2019 in order to be eligible for full consideration.

Candidates must possess a doctorate in philosophy and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.  The expected teaching load for this position will be 3 courses per semester.  Area of specialization: open.  Area of competence: St. Thomas Aquinas. Preference will be given to those with a broad understanding of the history of philosophy.

Religion and Culture Job at St. Thomas More College (Canada)

St. Thomas More College is announcing a job opening for July 2011:

The Department of Religion and Culture at St. Thomas More College (STM), a Catholic college federated with the University of Saskatchewan, invites applications for a tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2011. The Department has teaching needs in the history and teachings of Christianity, and is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in, and a willingness to develop courses in, Christianity and Ecology.

The STM Department of Religion and Culture works in collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan’s Religion and Culture Department in delivering undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate will have a completed PhD in a relevant area of study at the time of appointment. In addition, the ideal candidate should have a broad background in the history and teachings of Christianity. An ability and willingness to teach Introduction to World Religions, Science and Religion, Catholic Studies and/or Eastern Christianity will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to one or more of STM’s distinctive programs, e.g., Catholic Studies, Social Justice and the Common Good, etc.

Two positions in Theology at Seton Hall (New Jersey)

Got a message from Fr Thomas Guarino of Seton Hall University (South Orange, New Jersey):

We will soon begin to interview for two entry-level theology positions at Seton Hall.  One position is for undergraduate theology. The other position is for graduate moral theology. In both positions, the students will consist primarily of seminarians (either college level or graduate), but with a significant number of lay students as well.
